WHAT TO EXPECT
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING APPOINTMENT
EYEBROW
Prior to your appointment, you will have filled out your intake form and your medical history, as well as your consent form. This will allow me the opportunity to make sure there are no health issues, medications, supplements or treatments that can prevent us from doing the eyebrow tattoo.
We will start our appointment with a consultation, where we will discuss your wants and needs, and answer any questions you may still have. We will then take our before pictures and then I will map/draw your eyebrows. This step is very important, and is the one that will allow us to agree on the shape/style that I will tattoo. Once you agree to the shape, we will discuss color and saturation. Only once you have agreed to all of this, I will begin the tattoo. I will be using topical numbing throughout the treatment to ensure comfort.
Once the tattoo is complete, I will take your after pictures. We will then go over the aftercare instructions and send you home with your aftercare products. You can expect your eyebrows to look thicker due to light swelling, more defined, darker and warmer than what they will look like healed.
EYELINER
Prior to your appointment, you will have filled out your intake form and your medical history, as well as your consent form. This will allow me the opportunity to make sure there are no health issues, medications, supplements or treatments that can prevent us from doing the eyeliner tattoo.
We will start our appointment with a consultation, where we will discuss your wants and needs and answer any questions you may still have. We will then take our before pictures and apply the numbing cream. Once the skin has numbed, I will do the eyeliner design and show you. This step is very important and is the one that will allow us to agree on the shape/style that I will tattoo. Once you agree to the shape, I will begin the tattoo. Numbing is used throughout the entire tattoo process to keep you comfortable. It is very important to stay relaxed during the procedure, squinting and squeezing the eyes during the treatment will make it impossible to preform the service. Once the tattoo is done, I will take your after pictures. We will then go over the aftercare instructions and send you home with your aftercare products.
You can expect to be slightly swollen right after the treatment. The swelling usually shows up more the next morning.
LIPS
Prior to your appointment, you will have filled out your intake form and your medical history, as well as your consent form. This will allow me the opportunity to make sure there are no health issues, medications, supplements or treatments that can prevent us from doing the lip tattoo.
We will start our appointment with a consultation, where we will discuss your wants and needs and answer any questions you may still have. We will then take our before pictures. The design is the next step, I will outline the exterior of the lips to determine the shape we are going to give the lips. This step is very important and is the one that will allow us to agree on the shape that I will tattoo. Once you agree to the shape, I will custom mix the pigments to create the color we have discussed and begin the tattoo. Once the tattoo is done, I will take your after pictures. We will then go over the aftercare instructions and send you home with your aftercare products. You can expect your lips to be swollen right after the treatment for a few hours
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING HEALING PERIOD
EYEBROWS
Many women feel like the healing process is a lot easier than they had originally expected. Yes, the eyebrow will look a little bold and then a little patchy, but its no reason to hide away! (Although I wouldn’t recommend doing them right before an important event!)!
However, some women get brow shock. They go through a roller coaster of emotions when they have their eyebrows done. It takes a full 6 weeks to see what your tattoo will really look like. The eyebrow tattoo goes through a lot of changes, the color shifts, fades and softens during the healing period, before seeing the true healed color. The PMU can not be judged or adjusted before the tattoo is truly healed. This is a process and you have to be patient and trust it.
Generally, the day of the treatment, the eyebrows will look daker, more defined, bolder and warmer in tone than what they will look like once they are fully healed. The next day, and for the next few days, the eyebrows will appear very dark and will look a little harsh because the skin has now formed a thin layer of scabbing to protect itself. Then around day 5, the thin scabs will start to flake off making the eyebrows appear a little patchy. Usually, around day 7-10, the scabs have fully come off and the eyebrows appear light in color and almost like a milky version of the color. This is completely normal, it will take another good 4 weeks for that new skin to become more transparent again. During this period, you may find the eyebrows don’t look fully even in color or saturation. Once we see each other at the touch up appointment, any unevenness or shift in tone can be adjusted. The touch up is a very important part of the permanent makeup process.
EYELINER
Most women feel like the healing process is a lot easier than they had originally expected (Although I wouldn’t recommend doing them right before an important event!). Generally the day of the treatment, the eyes will have a little bit of swelling. The next 2 days, the eyes will be swollen upon waking up. The swelling generally goes down within a couple of hours, ice can be applied to help with the swelling and making sure to blink a lot will help the swelling as well.. Then around day 5-7, the scabs start to flake off. Usually, around day 7-10, the scabs have fully come off and the eyeliner appears lighter in color. This is completely normal, it will take another good 4-6 weeks for that new skin to become more transparent again. During this period, you may find the eyeliner doesn't look fully even in color or saturation. Once we see each other at the touch up appointment, any unevenness or shift in tone can be adjusted. The touch up is a very important part of the permanent makeup process.
LIPS
The day of your treatment your lips will be swollen and feel sensitive and tight. It will be very important to be mindful of your lips with all food and drink and plan to eat foods that can be eaten cleanly with a fork and knife that is not saucy or spicy. Only drink through a straw. The first day, the color will be very vibrant and then turn deeper by the end of the day. On days 2 and 3, the color will remain deep (or dark), and your lips will feel tight and dry. Around day 4 and 5 they will start to peel. The peeling usually ends around day 5 and 6, and then the lips are a little dry and flakey for the next couple of days. It takes at least 6 weeks for the color to stabilize in the lip and give a true healed result.
